Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Please don't tell my mother.....

but I just said, "samwich".  Yes. I. Did.  "Samwich"  As in "Christopher, did you eat your SAMWICH?."  I am mortified.  Thankfully no-one but Christopher heard me and I am most certain that is how he pronounces it anyway.  I think I shall have to go take a nap to shake this.  Please don't tell my mother or a certain blonde haired 18 year old.  Yes, a nap is certainly in order.  :)

PB and J artist is  HERE

Have a wonderful day!!!

Did you have one of these??

Most people had one in high school. My brother did. His was "Crest" green. Sort of dusty paint. I thought it looked great...when wet. I loved that bug. We would head off to school in the morning, him to his senior year, me to my seventh grade year. Me in the driver's seat, he back in the back....way in the back....pushing it down the street to get it started.... Then I guess I would hop over into my seat and he would hop in. I just KNEW my parents were saving that car for me. I would sit out there in it for hours, practicing shifting gears. I have no idea why they sold it later....maybe something about the transmission...or the gears being messed up....

Then came college. All those guys, all those flashy cars. Then there was that freshman guy with the best car of all. The 73 volkswagen Super Beetle. Bright shiny blue. It was love at first sight. I had always wanted one of those, um, those kind of guys. Yeah... a nice guy. A boy-next-door kind of guy. I'm sure it had nothing to do with his car. And so I kept him. And he taught me how to drive a stick. And he kept me. Even after that.

And the car went its merry way, to be replaced by numerous cars and truck along the years.

And then one day he came home with this:

Ok...one just like it...
And I loved it!!! I put my babies all in the back of that sweet little thing and drove it all over the streets of Atlanta. I didn't care that it was 105 degrees. I didn't care that the gas gauge didn't work. I LOVED that thing!!!

One night I had a dream. In the dream someone stole my cute little bug. And in my dream I had to forgive the person that stole my bug.

The next day my cute little bug was gone. No trace. Someone had pulled up in front, hitched it up and towed it off in the night. Weeks later they found what was left of it way down in the south end of the county on the side of a road. All the vintage parts were gone. My little bug was gone. And that was that...

Did I forgive whoever those people were that took my bug? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!! I figured that if the Lord God on high thought it was important enough to warn me ahead of time in a dream that maybe, just maybe I better do it. Maybe He knew that forgiveness didn't (yeah...past tense...yeah....) always come easy for me. Maybe He knew me well enough that He better help me out and prompt me just a tad bit.

So I've decided that if it was important enough for him that I forgive some nameless person that stole something as insignificant as a little old car, then maybe it is important enough to Him that I forgive everybody else. You know, those people that I really know, and really love that have REALLY, REALLY hurt me at times. So those days that I find myself wanting to dwell (roll around in, soak in) the hurt and anger and unforgiveness, I sometimes have to remind myself how important forgiveness really is to the Lord. If I can forgive the bug-stealer-guy whom I don't know and "love", then it is high time I get on with this forgiveness business with everybody else.

So let this be a little "bug" in your ear. Anybody need forgiving today??

Oh, yeah....I did forgive my parents for selling the "crest" bug.....eventually.....maybe.... just now.....

Have a blessed day!!!

My Bible, my coffee, my lap dog, my porch bed and God....

About 6 months ago our family started taking a Sabbath rest. Other than chores that just HAVE to be done, like milking cows and cleaning milkers, we do NO work! It has been a great blessing for us all. No cooking. No laundry. No sweeping. No nothing. I prepare the day before, either using the crockpot or cold stuff and then we relax.

So today momma had porch time. I didn't dust off the cobwebs and dust from winter. I just plopped myself down on that bed and relaxed. No guilt. No one expecting a thing from me. Just me, myself and God....and one little dog. :)

Have a blessed day, Y'all!

Sell the Lenox China! Sell the crystal!! But NEVER

EVER, EVER SELL THE PINK SCOTTY CAMPER!!!!!

I know. I never told ya'll about it. But today I thought it was time. You see, a few years ago finances were tight and momma thought it best to sell her frivilous toy on e-bay. And it went fast! You should have seen those bids going those last few minutes. And so this nice couple came up from Louisianna and were happy as could be and drove off smiling. They spent the night in it on the way home and wrote back about all the compliments they got on they way. I always thought that man must be SOME VERY secure man. Even the farmer would have never gone that far. Spending the night in a pink and white camper somehow didn't have the same draw for him as it did for the girlies and me.

I had wanted one for years. After reading about those "Sisters on the fly" in a magazine I just couldn't get the idea out of my mind. Then one day the farmer pulled in from a hunting trip pulling this little aqua and white beat up Scotty camper behind him. It was a mess! But with LOTS of help from people that loved me we got her whipped up and ready for the road.

She was the perfect size for a momma and 3 little girlies. I could pull her with my car and the man at Jellystone campground at Gatlinburg assured me he could get her parked for me. So we left the guys at home and the girlies and I headed out for our adventure. And it was an adventure!!! All along the way people took pictures and waved. We pulled into Walmart in Tn and I had a friend call me and ask if I was parked in a Walmart parking lot in Cleveland, TN. "How did you know???", I asked.

"I just got a call from a friend that the cutest little pink and white camper was parked at Walmart and I knew it had to be you!"

It was just THAT CUTE!!!

We pulled into Jellystone and heads started turning! People came up to help us out and get a look at that little cutie. "It looks like something from Mary Engelbriet's Home Companion", one woman exclaimed. Let me tell you....I couldn't have gotten a better compliment!!!

And so the girlies and I had our vacation.

We drank lots of tea and coffee, and made lots of cinnamon rolls in that little oven.

I liked that little oven!! (once I quit being scared I was going to kill us with the fumes!)

The girlies played hard and I drank coffee and read magazines.....it was a nice little vacation.

That's the only trip we took in her. She was used quite a bit, though. She became Laura Lee's bedroom for almost a year while we were living with our in-laws. I always told her she should write a book entitled, "The Year of the Little Pink Camper". Who knows....maybe one day....

Why this post??? I guess I'm itching again. Itching to decorate another camper. Itching to head off a couple of days with the two younger girls while the others tend the farm. I have a couple of places in mind. Not too far. But I do believe that there are some adventures yet to be had.

So momma is praying. And in the meantime looking through my jewelry box for something to sell. I may even hit the china cabinet. In fact....there may not be much safe around here right now!!!

So be on the lookout while driving through the South. If you see a pink camper going down the road with pom-poms hanging from the curtains be sure and honk!! There will be one happy momma with a big smile on her face pulling that cute little thing!!!

Lots of Blessings!!!

Busy, busy, busy life!

Yes, I'm alive. Life has become extremely busy these last few months. Milking cows. Baking bread. Teaching sewing lessons. Renewing old friendships. Making new friends. Trying to be a better mom. Leaning a lot more on the Father. Forgiving others. Forgiving myself. Moving forward... Yep....busy life.

Maybe as the days get shorter I'll get on here a little more, but we'll just have to see. School starts soon and I would really like this to be the year that we actually do what we set out to do! I guess we'll see how that goes as well!

Maybe I'll just get some pictures up here off and on....

Blessings!
